Automated availability checking

Hi all,
not sure if this is the right place to post, but...
Is there a software or site, that will do automated availability checking? For example I set destination and dates and it emails me or sends an SMS when there is availability? So that I don't have to check periodically (currently there is no availability, but sometimes people give up...).
Thanks

Search the forum for KVS Availabilty tool , download it and register as a 'lite' user for free. It will show all the fare availabilities on different routings for all or specific airlines you choose.

I recently downloaded it after reading about it on here and it is really useful. If you subscribe it will give you all sorts of other data as well including seat maps and fare codes.

Edited to add... Sorry just re-read your post and saw that you want the info emailing automatically so you may already know about KVS. I don't know if it will do what you want if you subscribe but it deosn't as a lite user.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry9630/4.7.1.40 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

KVS does not proactively notify because it is a query you run locally. ExpertFlyer can notify, I believe.

Are you looking for airline availability, hotel availability, or both?

airline. AFAIK, KVS does not do this, but I may be wrong

You are not wrong. It does not have any centralized system to notify you when inventory shows up.

ExpertFlyer does have some alerts that could meet this need.

Correct. ExpertFlyer.com is the only service that will proactively monitor and notify you of booking class inventory, even for award and upgrade classes.

You can start of with our 5-day free trial, make sure you select the Premium service when you sign up. Email [email protected] with any questions.

I was looking for a tool to do something like this - here is what I need, please let me know if EF does it (or KVS if the new version supports this)....

I want to setup a query between point A and B on a specific date, specific airline and specific flights that looks for availability in a specific inventory class, or anything below an inventory class threshold I set, or any combination of inventory classes I specify.

Here is an example:
Dep XXX Arr XXX
June 1 June 4
ABC Airlines
Outbound Flight 001 connecting with 002
Return Flight 003 connecting with 004
Any combination of the following booking classes: G, E, U

I want the query to check continuously, then alert me the moment inventory in my booking classes opens up so I can hit the website and grab the seat.

KVS does not. EF mostly does. It is not a continuous query but it does run periodically and will alert you via email when it sees the inventory open up.
