Google map on Razr v3?

Will the current version of the google maps app work on a Motorola Razr v3? I'm particularly interested in the "my location" function.

Why don't you just try it out. http://google.com/gmm

I believe it should work at least with the maps using the Java version. I am not sure if latitude will work as I don't think you can run apps in the background. The location thing I think has a chance of working though when you are in the phone.

Make sure you have a data plan as it tends to be data intensive if you use it more than occasionally.

I don't currently have a data plan.

I'd like to be able to use google maps for directions when traveling outside the US. I'd rather not land in LHR, buy a SIM and find out it doesn't work.

By the way, I don't care about google latitude (share location info with friends), only my location (google triangulates cell towers to guess where you are).

If you are using it outside the US I would really shy away from it without an international data plan. You can buy one for I think about $20 a month for several MBs which is all you would need (not exactly a deal though it is cheaper than the outrageous roaming fees), though at the same time a cheap GSP would pay for itself in only a few trip and provide much more accuracy.

Tmobile UK and Vodafone have plans for 50p to 100p per day for lots of data in the UK. V will roam in Europe for GBP 5 per day up to 15mb/day and T for GBP 1.5 per mb.

The question is whether the razr v3 will run Google maps. I'd also use it for general internet access, but I know that will work.

Doesn't matter, it just loads your location when you open the app. Just like the iphone version.
