Windows Remote Desktop for MacBooks
Hi All,
Looking for advice on a better solution for accessing my office PC from a MacBook or from an iMac at home. I have been using a PC at home and ThinkPad on the road with Windows Remote Desktop and Terminal Services at work up to now. I just bought an iMac for home and thinking of a MacBook of some kind on the road. Microsoft has a free Remote Desktop downoad for Mac and it works OK but opens in a small window and coupled with the AppleMouse which seems to require more real estate than the PC mouse, it seems to be more of a hassle to access my work PC than it was with all-PC products. So a new Apple user would appreciate any suggestions for other software, etc. Ideally this would be Remote Desktop type of software because I think it is going to be a big issue to go to our IT people and tell them I want to access my computer at work via something other than Terminal Services/Remote Desktop Services. Why don't you just change the preferences to open fullscreen? I use remote desktop all day for work and it's fine for me.
I use the same mouse as the mouse attached to my PC so I don't understand what you mean by the Apple Mouse taking up more realestate than the PC mouse. |
I'll echo Tummy's suggestion to change the connection preferences for the connection (I believe that MS still defaults to 640x480 for some ridiculous reason) to get a bigger window.
Other than that, I don't think that there are many other remote control tools out there that would do you much better. |
