Put it on your front steps with a 'free' sign on it, and put an ad in Craigslist 'free' section with your adress saying there's a computer on your front steps.
It will be gone within a couple of hours. |

Most computer stores will accept old computers for recycling without charging you a fee. Apple Stores will do so, for example.

Where I live the there's a free recycling thing at the local waste management site, 4 hours on Sat-Sun. I dropped off old laptop, batteries (the kind that go in flashlights, electronic devices, etc), old cell phone, cords, etc. Check w/ local municipality to see if they offer the same.
Cheers. |
I will be recycling mine via shotgun...I live in the woods, and this computer has been maddening to me at various times. Once I get a new laptop to replace it and have my files transferred, the desktop will be getting frontier justice.

Like coathangers in a closet, computers in our garage multiply when left alone. And like wire coathangers, they are of dubious quality and usability.
This Saturday we recycled/donated 8 desktop computers, 4 monitors, 2 printers and a bunch of other stuff. That's all that would fit in the car. Made a cash donation to the Soroptimists. Will take the rest of it another time. I'm so glad I saw this thread! |
