Browsing FT using iPhone 3G/Safari - estimating data usage?
Just so I can set a realistic expectation on potential data usage. In broad numbers, how many MB of data use would I expect to chalk up browsing FT constantly for say an hour?
I'm weighing up the merits of purchasing an international data bolt on. My service provider o2 offers two bolt-on products: 10MB for £20; 50MB for £50. Otherwise the standard rate is £6 per MB. Has anyone crunched the numbers? |
1 FT page is around 180K (0.18MB). So 10 MB would be enough for 55 pages or so...

or use RSS and download messages when you have Wifi access?

Browsing anything with 10mb is a joke.

Whatever you do, don't use Google Maps whilst roaming.

I learn't the hard way :D:eek: Thanks for the assistance. So it would seem that £1 per page at the standard rate is a broad estimation. Easy to remember at least, or I should say, be mindful to restrict usage to wifi zones :) |
