I only want one if I can access and sort to folders my Exchange mail as well as have calendar functions (meetings, online sync, etc) with Exchange. Im still waiting on the answer to that.

My T-Mobile Blackberry is dying a slow painful death. We're talking OLD here, it is a 7230. It randomly freezes up - neither the scroll wheel of the button does anything and I need to pull the battery out to get it back in operation. I had to do this about 12 times yesterday, and it is getting really annoying.

So, do I replace it now or cross my fingers and wait for the Google phone? I'm about ready to change to ATT to get the iphone unless T-Mobile comes out with something soon.

True Outlook mail on my phone would make me purr like a kitten who got into the cream.

I want one as well. Beyond the coolness factor, I love the "free" Gmail option that has been rumored. I just got an E71 from/for work (my managing partner loves all of the security options) and I am sure I can someone find a way to justify a second TMo line for just me.
:p

Plus, Amazon just confirmed that the G1 will come preloaded with their music store app for DRM-free music. Cool.

There is a link to "Get it First", but it doesn't do anything yet except say:

All site content and information about the T-Mobile G1™ with Google™ will be available shortly after the press conference is complete.

I'm pushing the button about every 30 seconds.

It is a chuckle that the TMo G1 page does not work well with Chrome. :D

I have been reading some of the transcripts and it is impressive that the G Boys flew in from Mountainview for the event. Then again, if I had my own 767 that I paid NASA for a parking spot, I might attend these types of marketing events as well.

It seems, from the snippets I've read, even more locked down than the iPhone, maybe they should've called it the Google Paranoid ;)

I do like the physical keyboard though.

The pre-order page seems to be live for current T-Mo customers or just log in to your account.

Where did you read that? Their app store for example will let anyone offer any app they want, unlike the censored app store Apple has.

I already have an iPhone 3G and Blackberry 9000 crammed into my front pockets. Now I gotta buy a G1 too? Sheesh!

Yes :)

I'll be adding mine to my Blackberry, Mogul, Touch Pro and N78 :D

Thankfully my SeV jacket will then still have 18 pockets left for more phones :)

I said it partly in jest, but the no tethering smacks of rolling over to the telcos in a similar way to Apple.

The no tethering, VOIP or Sling are the real negatives for me in the iPhone as it stands. If Google can deliver these, I'd definitely consider switching.
