Loading movies on to SD card/USB stick

Newbie question here:

What is the best software I should use to get DVD movies on to an SD card/USB stick?

I have just bought an ASUS EEE PC901, and would like to load a few DVDs for some upcoming flights.

Any help (as basic as it comes please!) would be greatly appreciated.

I can only speak for my own solution; I use AnyDVD and CloneDVD mobile. I convert the movies into Mpeg4 and copy them onto my SD card. All you need is a compatible player. The software has a free trial, so you can play around with it. But my experience is that it doesn't get much easier than this.
