i do not know if it has already been posted.T-mobile has been ordered to sell unlocked versions of the iphone in germany.Maybe the us courts will wise up and force apple to do the same thing in the usa.

Yes, but did you check the pricing? The unlocked iphone is more than 2x the price of the contract version. They do the same thing with the N95.

The US doesn't have the same regulations/laws as Germany or for that matter any country in Europe.
