HTC Touch or iPhone

If you had a choice, which would you choose?

Need unlocked capability is most important....

I have a Ipod touch so the Ipod function would be worthless.

Email app is not too important but nice to have. Web access withwifi is important.

Even though WM6 is a piece of doggy poopoo, no a2dp, lack of 3rd party software on the iphone, and sprint's cheaper SERO monthly plan made me choose the sprint touch. Beware that the htc touch only uses a 200mhz cpu so expect long periods staring at the spinning rainbow wheel.

The Sprint Touch has a 400MHz CPU, the GSM version is 200MHz.

so, I should either wait for the 2nd version of the touch or the iphone !!

or wait till Nokia brings out their own version of the touch !!

I had the first version of the touch, couldn't stand the speed of the processor and the connections I got here in the states (bought it in HKG) I have a treo 700wx for work, speed, giving high speed internet connection sharing.

But, the iphone is just a thing of beauty, ID, engineering and well thought out UI. I just WISH it allowed easier access to third party aps, gps, bluetooth keyboards, slingplayer, and high speed data. Rumors are than next spring will bring the 3G version, but most likely at a good sacrifice of battery life. I just don't know how they will do it otherwise.

I managed to get ATT to allow me to keep my 39.99$ 1200 minute plan (had to add 20$ data though) so that tipped me over to add it to the mix.

I carry an iPhone as my phone/sms/simple web device as well as a BlackBerry for email/GPS/Handmark Express device.

For me, the iPhone is an OK phone, with OK web browsing, but with a lifesaving voicemail interface. The VM alone sold me on the iPhone. The ability to selectively choose certain voicemails and ignore or postpone others has been lifechanging. Turning on my phone after a long flight with the dreaded "You have 16 new voicemail messages." and knowing that I need the 16th was very bad.

So far the iPhone has worked well in the UK and Singapore, but not Japan.
