Often checking email on the go. No body's even heard of Blackberry's here. Any experience that Yahoo, GMail, etc. That works best when checking from your handset? |
I check my Gmail from my Palm Treo 700p with no problems at all. ^
|
Also, Yahoo Mail and Hotmail have pretty good mobile interfaces.

Wirelessly posted (Nokia E61 Wi-Fi 3G GPRS: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Symbian OS; Nokia E61/0618.06.05; 9730) Opera 8.65 [en])
You might consider Opera for your Nokia - makes the internet far more useful to you... |
You should check out the free JVM client for Gmail - works on several Nokia phones:

Both the Nokia phones that I use are non-symbian models. I doubt I can run the other programs for internet from these phones.
Yahoo and Hotmail give me login problems. Maybe I'll try GMail. |
Gmail works great on my Motorola Razr (Sprint) as well as my BlackBerry 8830 (Sprint). No problems at all.
|
I would rank as follows (for use on a flipphone such as Samsung A900 or MotoRazr):
(1) Gmail (separate application) - seamless, easy, requires a minimum # of keystrokes to accomplish tasks and shortcuts. (2a) Yahoo and (2b) Hotmail. Tie. Both have decent WAP interface but require more keystrokes than gmail, also harder to view inbox. Looking forward to the day when Yahoo! Go is in wider release - looks very similar to Gmail but includes useful things like folders. |

The best deal I know of
I have T-MobileWeb for $5.99/mo on my RAZR. With it, you get unlimited access to any WAP site on the internet, and that includes gmail.com/app. Due to a hole in T-Mo's network, this also works across Europe as long as my phone is registered on a T-Mo site.
If you want to get into the game, I highly recommend ordering T-Mo service through Wirefly and getting the Dash (a $350 SmartPhone/PPC) for free, plus a $50 rebate. |
I love gmail on my blackberry, it's sexy, sleek and keeps me connected to my personal email.
