apsx files?
I downloaded google earth so I could try the live flight tracking here:
http://www.aeroseek.com/webtrax/fboweb.html However, when I click on the google earth link, I get a pop-up from firefox asking me how do I want to open the aspx file (default is aspxfile). It opens in notepad and looks like an xml file. Same thing happens with IE6.x. It turns out I have an association in the registry for asp and aspx files so they open with notepad, but according to what I found on the web, these files should be converted to html on the server side and just open in the browser. I'm sure I can open common asp files in both browsers and they just work. I saved the xml to a file (tried both x.html and x.xml) and opened it with IE, and it still didn't work. Any idea what's wrong? I was able to click on other Google Earth content on the download page and it worked ok. Thanks, David |
The webserver that is sending you the file isn't sending the proper MIME type. This is causing your browser to wonder what to do with it.

I think you're right, but they don't seem to realize it. Scroll down to the bottom of this page I found:
http://www.fboweb.com/fb40/pu/info/gep.aspx#bugs If I save it and rename it x.kml it does work. My installation is new (installed, removed and re-installed) and I of course have SP2. Direct link to some interesting google earth flight tracking ... (see incoming flights at several busy airports in google earth) http://www.fboweb.com/antest/ge/intro.aspx?old=1# Thanks, David |
