Converting midi file to audio CD?

Help! I need to convert a midi file of an instrumental track to a song to a format that I can burn to an audio CD.

Mr. Google tells me more than I understand.... ;)

Any easy way to do this in XP? I need this for tomorrow :(

I find that I have exactly one blank CD-R  So I need to get this right the first time :D

I think the easiest way would be converting MID file to WAV file using WinAmp and then burn it through any CD writing program.

You can check out the details here:

This can be done, but how easily will depend on what programmes you've got on your computer. You need to import the midi file to your audio programme and then save it either as a .wav or mp3 file so your CD burner can use it. Some programmes (eg Audacity) don't like midi files but you can usually "trick" them by playing the file and recording it at the same time.
You can often simply email a sound file to someone rather than putting it on a CD.

OK. I've got it converted to a wav file. But Windows Media Player is telling me that it can't burn the file to an audio cd because it can't determine the length of the file.

If I just write the wav file to a CD-R using "Send to CD-Writer" in XP will that be enough for the file to be played on an audio CD player?

(Is wav the data format that audio CDs use?)

Btw, I can't email the file because I need an actual CD for a funeral tomorrow.

ETA: I found this program http://www.bestmidi2mp3.com/midi2cd.html and used it to convert the midi to wav and burn it to the audio cd. Worked great.

It should work if you send it as a .wav file and sometimes even if it comes out as a .cda file it usually works on current machines. To make double sure - seeing you ony have the one CD-R - perhaps save a couple of copies of it and burn both of them. Or - go back to the "archaic" technology of recording it onto an audio-cassette as well - this is what we do if we have any concerns about digital transfer.
