Converting a 120V shaver to 220V
I have an electric shaver that has a charger that is good for only 120V. As I am going to Australia in a few days I would like to still be able to use my shaver. I am wondering if I was to buy a charger in Australia that would be 220V, would it still work with my shaver. The brand is Remington if that helps.

Many hotels have shaver specific outlets in the bathroom that are 115-120V. Otherwise, how long are you going for? The charge on my shaver lasts 2 weeks.

The simplest way is to buy a voltage converter and the correct Australian plug before you leave. They're inexpensive and available from various places online . . . . your shaver won't use much power, so the lowest wattage models should more than suffice.
As an example: http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=family With a bit more looking around you can probably find a better price than that. |
Well my trip is for 3.5 months, and I will be staying in all hostels. Also bringing just one backpack, so I don't think that I will have any room for a voltage converter too as it looks to be somewhat large.

For Europe I travel with one of these.
I bought mine on ebay.com for about $5 plus $5 S&H. It works fine for charging computers, AA/AAA/C/D battery chargers, electric toothbrushes etc. Weighs about 6 oz. MisterNice |
