Cingular 8525 Voice Dial

In reading over the manual it seems that in order to activate the voice dialing feature you need to manually tap or select <start><programs><voicedial>.

This seems to defeat the purpose of the convenience of voice dial unless I didn't read the manual thoroughly.

Is there an easier way to voice dial ?

Typically you'd use the feature through a bluetooth headset, in which case you only need to tap the button on the earpiece to activate voice dialing. There's not much point to using it if you're actually taking the phone out and putting it to your ear.

On my TyTN I just hold down the voicedial button on the side (the one under the power button). You may need to assign that button in the control panel.

yes

yes, it has to be activated first, and then of course running. I assigned it to the side button too. But, then just stopped using it since most are in my recent list.

1)At the risk of sounding lazy can you point me in the direction of activating the voice dial ?

2) If I have the 8525 from Cingular made by Qualcomm what is the code is it TyTN, HTC?

Tks

I just mean you have to launch it, and set it up first. The VD on the device is not the network based voice dial that some providors offer.

The 8525 is made by HTC and goes by the name Hermes to the rest of the world.
