any free pocketpc GPS solutions!
So, after having used my copilot system for years, something is wrong with my registration code, now that I switch my pocketpc back to it for an upcoming trip.
So, not sure I am going to get it resolved before monday, does anyone know of ANY free or cheap GPS systems for pocketpc, that can be downloaded, or found on the net that will work for the interim? any help would be MOST appreciated. |
Windows Live has mapping and GPS in the PPC application.

yeah
Yeah, I don't have real time data on the ppc I use abroad,
but that puppy works well in the US, no question . I have also found a way to get my BT gps to talk to the application, so it does GPS, mapping and the overlay of TRAFFIC. the msn.live.com application ROCKS, but this coming week, I need my europe maps. |
Well, if you've never had problems before and this is really a case of an emergency, you can always go looking online for various resources, right? after all, it's not your fault...

I use Mapopolis quite a bit. The software is free, they only charge for the maps. You can buy unlimited map downloads, or ala carte by state.

are you more of a wheaties, grape nuts, or smorz type of person?
what's this about install trouble? can't get it to load at all? |
if you are unable to get the GPS thing for free, have a look at map24 Mobile. Its similar to Google maps with the added benefit that you can set up addresses, locations & directions on your Mymap24 web account (free) and access these maps lcations and directions on the web-based smartphone prog (Map24Mobile).
http://www.us.map24.com/ I find that Map24's PC-browser based application is not as easy to use as Google Maps on the PC, but the Map24 Mobile smartphone prog is far more usable than Google's. Odd state of affairs, but so it is. |
