Current VOIP free trials ?

A number of companies (Voipstunt and related) offered the opportunity to set up (muiltiple) accounts and make a limited number of free calls, without having to add credit to the account.

Are there still any out there, as these offers seem to have disappeared ?

I use VOIP only infrequently when travelling to some destinations, just to make a couple of quick calls home, so do not want the hassle of setting up a permanent account, with credit that expires, etc.

Jajah and Freedigits both offer free trials...they give you like $10 worth of credit for starting an account (no credit card required)

Have tried Freedigits and that seems to be only US$0.50 credit. Better than a kick in the teeth, so thanks anyway.

Jajah seems to be a different concept and not involve VOIP as far as I can see.

I should have said that my calls will be UK destined.

I couldnt quite remember what freedigits gave you...
As for Jajah, they will work as a traditional IAX provider, you just have to dig through the FAQs...

I cannot think of any others that offer free trials. If you goal is free calls though, there are plenty of ways to get there or get close.... look into enum (e164.org) and sipbroker... not sure how technical you want to get, but if you are willing to build your own VoIP box with something like Trixbox then you will get pretty far.

Well Freedigits are far from satisfactory. 50c. credit and 0.03 c. per minute, buys me about 6 mins before the credit runs out. Something wrong with the maths there I would say ! This seems to be the same scam as with some of the calling cards.
