Anyone use the APC Universal Plug Adapter?
 

Hi all,
I'm headed off to Spain later this week, and didn't want to get stuck there without a plug adapter again, so I ordered one of these:

It seems like an Autobot transformer for plug adapting needs.
Just curious to see if anyone has used one of these and what their thoughts are on it.

If nothing else, I'll be letting you all know what I think when I get back.

intriguing design! looking forward to hearing how it works out for you.

The only potential problem I can see is that it is long and flat in some configurations which may make it prone to fall out of the wall socket (Ive never seen one of these other than the pictures in the link you posted mind you).

I've got the same one as muddy as it's worked well for me.

I have been using the APC for about a year. It works well and greatly reduces briefcase clutter. It helps a lot to print out the instruction diagrams that you can get on line. If not, I tend to forget which post gets pulled out when.

We have no name Chinese versions of Muddy's style plug here in Dubai. They go for about 10Dhms (apx. GBP 1.25) each. 16.95, ouch.

-ahem- ~$25 USD in Switzerland :D (I was in a bind and had to have it) ... in all fairness though the quality is superb. Ive got some chinese adapters I bought in Kuwait for 500 fils (less than $2 USD) that work, but might just fall apart at any minute.

The Quality Isn't Bad
 

The Quality of the travel adapters and universal power strips (takes anyone's plugs) that I've purchased here isn't bad. They hold the plug solid, the fit the wall socket well, the movable pieces slide and lock well.

Believe me, I've been strung my some junk (fast shrinking shirts, poorly made tools, etc.), but the travel adapters haven't been a problem.

I hear what you are saying. Right or wrong, the Chinese have a bad rep in the area of quality. Here in South America "chino" (translated: Chinese) is often used just to describe something of poor quality even if it isnt from China :D. I have had some pretty decent chinese products ... matter of fact Im typing on a Chinese made laptop now that is top notch (Compal). :D
