Video camera recommendations
 

I need to buy a new video camera to use on holiday. I'm not looking for the most perfect images, but ones good enough to show off to friends back home when connected to a TV. The camera needs to be small, the smaller the better to fit into a pocket. I definitely do not want a tape based system like Mini DV as they break too quickly.

With all this in mind I was thinking of the Sanyo VPC HD1 which records to a 4GB SD card. Has anyone got one of these and can let me know what they think of it? Or does anyone have another recommendation?

I have an Ikegami HL-DV7AW, love it!! It's a lot of camera but boy does it make beautiful images!

I think that today most cameras will provide decent image quality, I'm talking about the main brands, Sony, canon, nikon, etc...
I believe that as long as you stick to one of these you'll get videos that you can show friends.

From my experience I recommend buying at least one spare SD card, it's quite a bummer when you want to shot & your card is full & with the low prices of cards today it's worth the investment.

Another thing to keep in mind is the type of battery.
