In Flight Internet?

I remember seeing something a few months ago about select overseas flights on 777's providing WiFi. Since then I've been on two 777 flights to europe (JFK-LHR) and haven't seen it and the FA's didn't know what i was talking about. Anyone have any info on this or been on a flight with WiFi?

It was connexion by boeing. Its being discontinued however. Do a search online or on the board here for more details.

I am surprised that no one has jumped on Connexion; I wonder why it doesn't have a buyer--at least I haven't heard of one.

Apparently, you fly the wrong airlines.

Am I right in saying that you can still use Connexion on 'enabled' flights, even though Boeing are going to bin it? Or has it now been switched off!?

I'm posting from NH 008 right now via Connexion.
Good connection on my end. Hadn't heard tthat they were going to discontinue the service. Did they stop the installation? Will the brids that have still be online in the future?

Thanks,

Scho

I wonder how it's doing on airlines that have it. I think the pricing is a bit too high IMHO. Connexions closure is a bad sign.

I'm posting from LH 438 right now via Connexion.

Slow and spotty connection on my end. Three "dead spots" over the Atlantic, and I had to ask the attendant to reboot the system after the second, which the flight deck did graciously enough.

Ok, that's what it was, Connexion. I was flying UAL so makes sense why they knew nothing of it.

Back in June of last year there was a big thing about United and Verizon teaming up for WiFi. I've searched and searched the internet and can't find anything except the June announcements. Anyone have any info on that?
