Cingular Blackberry Question

So i'm moving to Argentina, can i keep my cingular blackberry and somehow use it there?

If i pay the cancellation fee might they unlock it?

before you cancel the service, call them and ask them to
unlock it for you. (just tell them you are travelling outside the
country.) if you have been on their service for some time
(not sure whats the magic number) they should be able to
do it. but dont cancel the service before it gets unlocked.

Assuming you want to use the email portion of the Berry and not just use it as a phone:

Even if you did get it unlocked, it is unlikely that the Argentine operator would be able to enable it as the "PIN" is also locked in RIM's systems to Cingular. Easiest thing to do is just buy a new Blackberry when you get there. Only one operator offers Personal Blackberry service: http://www.personal.com.ar/empresas/...blackberry.htm

ScottC, do WM5 Smartphones have anything like a system lock PIN? Particularly a TMobile SDA? Thanks.

Nope, in rare cases the operator settings can be "locked in", but it is really easy to remove anything done on them.
