Looks like a cool toy, but I'm not convinced. A lot of things could break on this thing. I'll wait until it's been out for a bit. I do have a MS natural keyboard and a wired MS optical mouse that I really like..

Hmm, a backlit keyboard with an ambient light sensor. How innovative.

Yeah, but at least this keyboard doesn't have a Mac attached to it. So it won't get dirty sweat marks all over it, burn your nuts off or make a nasty whining noise.

Is this regarding the mac laptop or the mac user? :D Mac users always get kinda whiny when their babies get called ugly.

But before we pc afficiandos gloat too much, how about the recent spontaneous combustion of a Dell Laptop at a presentation. Pretty impressive way too make a pitch.

Probably made by the same pyrotechnics firm that makes the Apple Magsafe connector :D

I'm sure MS will provide a poorly implemented copy of those features soon. It may not make it into Vista, but maybe when the next OS version comes out. 2013 or so?

Lol... perhaps if they get some Chinese sweatshops to work on it things will go faster. I hear Apple may be able to help them with that :D

No; a CORDLESS backlit keyboard. Backlit keyboards are nothing new, even when Apple put one in the PB it wasn't all THAT innovative. To put it in a CORDLESS keyboard; THAT is something new.

But hey; in a world where the "mightymouse" is considered a world wonder nothing amazes me when it comes to the fanbois :D

Uh oh. I have a 2 hour long diatribe about this ready to go. It implicates Apple, all other tech companies, the Chinese government, the US government, Walmart, and consumers. It's also unspeakably boring, so I'll spare you. Just pretend I've been ranting and raving for a couple hours.

Sounds easy enough to do :D

It really is a shame Apple is involved in that, especially since it really has nothing to do with them and everything with their OEM... But I guess nowadays any bad news about Apple is good news for some sites...

Even I'm not fanboi enough to claim the Mighty Mouse is innovative. I'd describe it as "long overdue".

I'm a bit surprised to find that you're fanboi enough to claim that a CORDLESS backlit keyboard is innovative, though. I mean, I know MS's newfound inability to ship product has left its supporters grasping at straws, but still ...

I've always been a fan of Microsoft's hardware.
