Which Car GPS System and why?
Need some thoughts from those who use car GPS systems to find locations while driving. Who has the most user friendly and cost effective GPS system that gives good verbal commands and has good visable maps?

This topic comes up every few weeks... Please start out with this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...&highlight=gps

Lots of threads on that already here in this forum. Do a search for GPS or whatever in the thread title.
ScottC (one of the forum moderators) loves his TomTom 910, and he's probably tried or owned many of the various models from different manufacturers. Many of us like our Garmin products. I have an older Garmin Street Pilot 2610, which I like. I'd rather have a newer smaller more portable model, but that would involve a new investment of over $500+ for new basic models. It's hard for me to justify buying a new one when my existing one still works just fine. Here's a link to one of the more recent threads, but like I said, there are several more detailed threads here. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=565076 -David See? ScottC posted before I had a chance to submit my reply. :) |

I've got a Bluetooth GPS receiver (Globalsat BT-338) with iGuidance 3.0 on it's way; should be waiting for me when I get home Friday. I bought it to use with my Axim X51V.
I'll post a review once I've had a chance to exercise it. |
