Source for New Thinkpad Power Connector?

The new T60 and X60 Thinkpads use a different power connector than the X40 and other previous models. It's still a barrel connector, but much larger diameter. Does anyone have a source for an adaptor from the old-to-new connector, or for the new connector so I can make an adaptor, or even a good specification for the barrel size?

You almost assuredly won't find an adapter. The two power supplies likely have disparate characteristics (voltage and current supplied). They didn't change the connector for no good reason, it was likely because the new laptops won't work with the old power supplies (not enough voltage/current supplied).

The X40 is 3.5 amps at 16 volts. The T60 is 4.5 amps at 20 volts.

A universal adapter might work, but I don't see any with tips for the T60.

very correct... we got a t and an x today to demo out to our folks since we're doing a laptop refresh and we were talking about the power connector. The new TPs chew up a lot more power than the older models. But the CD ROM is interchangeable.

Or maybe they put on a new connector so that you'd have to buy a new power suppy from them, instead of using an older one as a spare. :)

I just got an X60. Its power supply is 65 W, 3.25 amps at 20 volts.
If I could find a barrel connector tip for the X60 or T60, I'd be happy to try the X40 supply with it.
