Firefox Problem! - Lost my bookmarks

I just restarted my notebook and when I opened up Firefox, it appears it is a new installation. I lost all of my bookmarks, my themes and extensions are still there but not active. Any clue as to what could have happened or where my bookmarks went?

Is your disk healthy? Did you lose any files?

You lost your profile. I forgot how to find it. If you search foxfire on this thread, someone told me how to find it. it is also available on the foxfire site.

The link below doesn't exactly answer your question, but it might help you to understand how to get them back.

Same thing happened here-I have no idea what caused it.When I went through the steps the other posters recommended, the profile manager only lists "default" as a profile.

I guess I will need to rebuild my bookmarks,as I see no way to recover them.

I was able to recover them. Firefox makes a daily backup of bookmarks and keeps 5 instances of this file.

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\profilename\bookmark backups

There should be 5 .html files in there. In FF import the appropriate file.

Hope this helps.
