US GSM SIM Card
 

Any suggestions. Just a SIM card like avl. in other countries without phone? I have a friend coming in from Asia for few months. Saw details on phone with cards on TM but they all have phone/sim card combo.

It depends on where your friend is going to be and whether he/she intends to travel around the country... because services are limited to within one area sometimes.

But where one may buy a prepaid SIM card for GSM phones are T-Mobile and Xingular.

I've used t-mobile prepaid since last April and love it. You can get the activation card on e-bay with 100 minutes or so expiring in a week or two for $13, then just recharge it.
