Which one is better?

I know many people with Blackberry's but how does the Trio compare to it?

Do you mean "Treo"? If so, I would suggest changing the spelling in the headline.

I am going to go with the original author meant Treo. I have the Treo 650 and have had it since about July. Over all I am happy with it but it does have a couple problems that I need to have checked out. The first and most very annoying problem is I have problems reading and replying to emails on yahoo. I get a message saying that I need an IE browswer or better and lately when I have tried to reply to emails it doesn't get sent out. The other problem and a lot of the Treo 650 and from what I have heard more so with the 600's is that it restarts itself when you are trying to connect to a website. This has happend to me more times that I would like it to. But overall I am happy with my toy. It is a real time killer when waiting for metros and for killing time at the airports. I'd like to hear from people that have the new Treo 700w. Has anyone experienced similar problems with theirs or is it working fine?

You know MY answer, Cheri, but I hear from a real estate agent friend that the Treo supports the MLS while blackberries are locked out. Should make the decision a no-brainer for you...

As far as my answer goes: Comparing Blackberry to the Treo is like comparing apples and oranges (or berries). Both devices have their strong points.

If you need something that'll excel in email and web access then the Blackberry is simply the only solution to consider, if you need additional applications and/or multimedia then consider a Treo. No games, camera, zinging ringtones or mp3 on a Blackberry.

Blackberry is more rugged, and in my opinion more reliable. Even the most up to date Treo needs a reboot every now and then, in my years with a Blackberry I have never ever had to reboot to fix a locked up device.

Then of course the keyboard; while Palm has managed to copy some of the main features of the RIM keyboard the Blackberry is still the clear winner here.

Thanks ScottC John always tells me to check with you before making any electronic purchases. I think I will wait to hear about the new Treo that is coming out.

Edited to add that Koko is always trying get us to become a Crack addict like him.

The "new" treo (The Treo 700w) has the same form factor as the current ones, but instead of running on the Palm operating system, it runs on a pocket version of Windows called Windows Mobile. Initial reviews are pretty weak and most seem to consider the palm version (the treo 650) to be superior to it.

Why do you say that? The ssh client makes this very handy for the true geek. You see tons of them over at Google.

My biggest complaint with it is the battery life, of lack thereof, though the Blackberry 7100 wasn't exactly great in that department either when I benchmarked them a while ago.

Because if you NEED your email the Sidekick is one device you can't rely on. I know several people that always made fun of my Blackberry till they had 5 days downtime last year, and still average several hours a week with "dancing G's".

SSH is available for the Blackberry as well.

Blackberry, more sturdy, not as shiny as a screen (less scratching), and no stupid stylus to worry about.
