Current best cellphone with best camera?

Would appreciate your experience with current best cellphone with good/excellent camera.
I was told that the Samsung A950 is such and it has two megapixel camera. But when I look it up it only says 1.3 megapixels. Did I get wrong model or a model which is not quite out yet?

Will need some more info; what network are you on?

Personally my favorite is the SonyEricsson K750/W800 with its 2mega pixel camera. but these are GSM, and since you mentioned the A950 I assume you are on Verizon?

FWIW, the A950 is indeed only 1.3MP.

The Nokia N90 has a 2 megapixel Carl Zeiss Optics camera with built in flash. Easily the best phone camera on the market today.

You forget the fact that it is absolutely massive. Pretty much all the reviews I have read put the camera quality below that of the SonyEricssons. All that phone, and nokia couldn't even fit a vibrating ringer in it...

Thank you much. No network obligations presently.

Samsung A800

Disclaimer: I'm only familiar with the Sprint models.

The Samsung A800 from Sprint has gotten good reviews for it's 2MP camera phone. It's a slider phone (details at PhoneScoop.com). It's a 2MP camera and the phone has a transflash (microSD) slot. Sprint has a newer 2MP camera on the A940, but that hasn't received as favorable reviews and people are concerned about the swivel screen. The A800 actually has a "camera" format with a large QVGA screen and actually looks and feels like a camera when the slider is closed.

If you're interested drop me a PM. I have one (NEW) I'd like to trade or sell off that I received from insurance (a sub for my older discontinued phone). It's unused, and according to the service code is not reconditioned. It's a nice phone, but a slider isn't best for my usage due to work environment (although I love the camera).

Another vote for K750i. ^
The camera quality is as close as it gets to that of a regular camera.

Hmm, Phonescoop shows no US carriers for this phone. Europe only? Which US carriers will support it if you can get one?

Of course, bestdoesn't indicate where s/he's located :)

My Sharp 903 has a 3.2 MP camera with 2x optical zoom. No flash, but a bright led that can be about 10 different colors. It takes nice pictures.

SE K750/W800 take better pics than most current generation western cellphones, and as a bonus are very good no-compromise phones.

However, their pictures are a lot noisier than even my 5 year old 2MP Ixus/Powershot S110, especially in low light. I predict this won't change until cellphone camera sensors become physically larger (or some breakthrough), which won't happen for mainstream models.

I think T Mobile and Cingular are among the carriers that support the phone.

I am currently using a Nokia 6270 that has a 2 MP camera and takes brilliant pictures but more importantly the RF is incredible. Great phone!

Carrier doesn't have to carry a phone to be able to get it. W800 is sold in Sony Stores and K750 is available through most wireless phone resellers. There are 100's of phones not carried by an operator that are available to end users, that is the nice thing about GSM.

Exactly! Other than my Treo 650 I can't remember the last branded phone from my provider I owned.

We are usually forced to wait months and months for phones that have been released in Europe, if they ever get released here.

I just upgraded to the A950 . It arrived yesterday so I'm not especially familiar with it (nor, if history serves to predict the future, will I be in 2 years when I replace it). It does have a 1.3 megapixel camera with flash and no zoom.

My buying criteria was to obtain the most expensive free phone available from Verizon Wireless online. With a renewed 2 year commitment, a $50 online reduction and $100 every 2 year allowance, it cost -$.01.

I have played with the camera and it takes an ok picture but I haven't seen it except on the phone screen.
