Adding a New Program in Zone Alarm doesn't work

Upgraded my version of Eudora and discovered that it couldn't send/receive mail ("permission denied").
Turned off ZA firewall and no problem.
So went to add the new version of the program (there is already a eudora.exe registered but it must look at the internal signature).
* Added the new program but no joy.
* Deleted the old Eudora entry. No joy.
Noticed that zone alarm sees V6.2.1.2 but Eudora (Help>About) shows 6.2.5.6...but the path name points to the same .exe...
Any ideas? Hate to shutdown the firewall anytime I want to send/receive email...

Isn't ZoneAlarm *ASKING* if the program should have permission?

Looking at the advanced controls it can be set to always deny instead of asking. Perhaps someone has locked it down to that extent?

It's set to "always ask for permission" for both Trusted & Internet zones....but it stops Eudora silently...no diaglog box pops up....it's the most recent version of Eudora and latest V6 release of Eudora.

There must be a bug in one or the other. Zone Alarm has forums on their site IIRC.

Close Eudora. Open the ZoneAlarm Control Center. Go to Program Control and the Program tab. Find all the Eudora entries and remove them all by right-clicking and selecting Remove. Then open Eudora. You should get a pop-up screen from ZoneAlarm asking how to handle Eudora. Allow it to access the Internet.
