Mobiblu MP3 player
Despite spending very little time on here, I know it a place where I'll be able to get an answer to this question.
Does anyone know if this Mobiblu Cube is available in-store at Walmart or anywhere else for that matter. Hoping to pick one up next month, over LV or San Diego way. |

Who wants to look at the display other than to get the track title unless you want it do more than be an MP3 player Why do you want accessories, it's to play music It weighs 1/3rd the weight Oh! and finally (and personally) I don't like Apple and all the hype that surrounds them |
Personally, don't care for the square design. I am still holding off the Apple bandwagon. Don't know how much longer though. Samsung is supposed to some out with some cool players pretty soon. Sony has nice ones but their software sux.

As far as accessories go; I love the ipods massive assortment of extras. Massive sales mean nothing aside from massive sales. GM is the largest car seller in the world yet not everyone likes to drive a GM. Massive sales don't equate to a product being superior or of better quality. I am sure I can find a multitude of Mac owners that will say Windows is a piece of crap even though Windows has masssively more sales than Apple. You will even find some Windows owners who will agree. Some people don't care for Itunes software. Some people don't buy their music from Itunes( I never have and I never will pay $1 for low quality DRM data, although I did download some tunes with a free gift card given to me). Some people don't care to spend extra money on accessories. (I have my etymotic earphones and a pair of portable sony powered speakers I bought years ago in Tokyo while on a business trip. These are all the accessories I need). You see my music usage has not changed much since the days of the Walkman. I still use my portable music much in the same way as I did years ago. The only difference now is that I don't have to carry a case of tapes or CD's. I don't see the need for all of these added extras that Apple and it's partners have convinced people to buy. The M cube is a nice little player that I would term more as a novelty because of it's simplistic design and style. Nothing full featured or extraordinary about it. Some people will buy it because they simply like it. The same as some people will buy the Nano. I don't find the Nao that special either aside from the great pricepoint offered for 4gb of solid state memory. |
Accessories can definitely enhance the user experience, usability and flexibility of a device. Some iPod accessories that fit into this category include:
iPod-auto connectivity- Allows users to access their entire iPod library, including using the steering wheel buttons to skip ahead, pause, or rewind. Dockable, portable speakers- Altec Lansing seems to be a favorite. Integrates all the iPod's features, such as the alarm clock, remote control capability in some models, etc in a compact device. iPod Clothing- Ski jackets, backpacks, etc. Contain buttons built-in to the clothing that allows the users to skip, play, pause, etc without having to get their iPod out or, in the case of the ski jackets, remove gloves. iPod Remotes- allows a user to play, pause, skip, etc while an iPod is, say, connected to the stereo without getting up. Cases- protection, portability, etc. earbud-integrated lanyards- Users can snap the lanyard into the dock port, put it around their neck, and insert the connected to the lanyard without as much issue with tangled earbuds. Armbands- Useful when working out Combination car charger/FM transmitter- consolidates two functions in one, minimizing dongles and taking advantage of the power supplied by the car for the transmitter Media Readers- allows users to upload digital camera pics from their memory cards to regular-size iPods Voice recorders- self-explanatory External Battery Packs- Useful for an additional 24 hours or so of emergency power for the iPod Thumb-sized speakers- Tiny speakers, a little smaller than a shuffle for sharing your music with friends Cassette adapters built for the iPod- allows steering wheel navigation when playing the iPod from the car's tape deck All these allow the iPod to be used easier or in more activities. easier: car integration, remote control, earbud lanyard, etc more activities: clothing (winter sports, walking/hiking w/ daypack), armbands (working out), cases (walking), voice recorders (preserving thoughts, reminders, lectures, dialogues, phone calls), media readers (media dump to recycle media cards), speakers (filling a room with music, waking up to the iPod, falling asleep to it), remotes (stereo integration), etc A good list of iPod accessories with reviews can be found here. |
Guys, lets not turn this into a mine's bigger than your's, and yes I'm guilty and I apologise.
Can anyone confirm or deny what Kurwah wrote that it's on-line purchase only. If so I can arrange to have it delivered to the hotel. |

Thanks Scott: Looks like order and deliver to the hotel then. |
ipod may have the edge for most people, but I also don't use itunes, and I also don't use any accessories besides an fm transmitter. as for coolness, I think the mobiblu beats the ipod, at least everything pre-nano...to each his/her own I guess
and the mobiblu is exclusively available (for now at least) from walmart.com, so you'd have to order online |

MobiBlue originates from Korea, and having spent two months traversing the streets of Seoul, they were not quite popular, despite being readily available and pretty competitive in price and hands-down the smallest 512/1gig mp3 player available. The iRiver n10/n11's were far more popular, arguably due to some reliability and battery issues with the MobiBlue according to both users and venders. ymmv.
