Vonage vs. Voicepulse vs. Broadvoice

Vonage vs. Voicepulse vs. Broadvoice

These services seem to work in the same manner (i.e. plug their box into an ethernet RJ45 wire).

I plan to use this box with a USA number overseas for about a year. Then I am planning to keep th number and make this my home number / connection.

Thoughts?

Is seems Voicepulse has more options to transfer phonecalls in their box to other 'local to the box' phone numbers (i.e. cell phones).

I am a VoicePulse subscriber. When I did my research (about a year ago) the feature set w/respect to forwarding, filtering, hunting, etc. (my concerns) was much better with VoicePulse. I've not revisited that research since, as I've been very happy with my service from VoicePulse. Currently I pay $24.99/month for unlimited phone service (local and long-distance). International rates are extremely reasonable IMO. The features are excellent, as a confirmed "road-warrior" there's no call I haven't been able to manipulate as needed.

Curious about call quality

I'm a Vonage subscriber who's happy with the audio quality, but wants the features available from Voicepulse (filtering, etc.). A question to Voicepulse subs: What's been your experience with call/audio quality?

No problems for me. Crystal clear, even when calling New Zealand. IME, the quality is entirely dependent on your broadband connection, nothing else. If you have cruddy broadband, you'll have cruddy VoIP.

I have 3 vonage lines. Home (for all domestic and Intl long distance), Office (we use vonage and cell phones only), and I installed a line into the the home of our engineer who has relocated to San Francisco recently.

No complaints.

The one feature I missed on Vonage was multiple simulring numbers; they enabled this 2 weeks ago :)

I do miss some kind of filtering though, other than that I have all the features I need. They just hit 1 million subcribers, so they are most certainly here to stay.

Feedback:

I just got my Voicepulse box and are usinging it in New Zealand.

I am very satisfied with the voice quality and availaiblity of features from the web-site. They have some neat, useful features (i.e. ring multiple telephones at the same time in a hunt group, etc.).

As you set the time zone (for do not disturb features) I wish that non-USA times zones would be allowed. Also, their customer services is only availaible until 7pm EST.

So far I think I did the right decision.

I was interested in switching to Vonage a while ago, but was discouraged by all the bad reviews. See: http://reviews.cnet.com/Vonage/4505-...-30974765.html

The editors gave it a good score, but some of the members ripped it apart.

I've never had a problem with Vonage.... but I don't think they are great either.

I have lots of issues with Vonage. Calls drop, the other party can't hear me, periods of 8 seconds or so when I can't hear what the other person is saying.

VoIP User for 2.5 Years

Started with Vonage (had all of the problems noted here with them), then SunRocket (fly by night outfit) and then AT&T Call Vantage. AT&T is $24.99/month but they use AT&T's massive overcapacity of circuits for their VoIP services. Have all of the features that you would expect from VoIP and the call quality is better than my Qwest POTs line.

I design enterprise VoIP solutions for a managed services provider and have no connection with AT&T and in fact don't like them for their enterprise services. However, ^ ^ on their Call Vantage Service!

Been with Vonage for almost 2 years now, and have not had a single problem.

I really enjoy http://www.voipbuster.com/en/index.html.

It is totally free for up to 1 minute to most everywhere in the world. I use it to check my voice mail messages in the US from Malta. The connections have been crystal clear for me.
