Privacy for Laptops

Any recommendations for making the screens on your laptops "private" (i.e., can't be viewed at an angle)? Not that I'm doing anything bad... just gives me a weird feeling when the pax next to me checks in on my doings once in a while...

I believe that 3M makes a screen protector-type thing that does this. Hey, I even Googled for you:

Hey thanks!

I hope y'all weren't thinking I was lazy or FT/internet inept. I was seeing if any FTers used products that they would/would not recommend. ^

EDIT: Crap... I have a 12" 16:9 aspect ratio... I'm gonna guess this isn't a standard size :(

Check out this site, as it also addresses 16:9:

I'd like to have one for my 16:9 Dell 700m, so I can watch PG-13 and R-rated DVDs without worrying if my neighbor will get offended by any of the material.

I have the same Dell. Also same concerns, along with being able to work on confidential papers and such.

EDIT: $135! Maybe I'll just carry some non-disclosure agreements and liability waivers with me :)

Buy one of the cheaper ones, and when it arrives evaluate it to see whether you could cut it to fit. If you can...do it and use it. If not...return it.

A seemingly blank screen, of course :p

BAHHHH! When someone stares at my screen I just stare and at them and say "Perhaps it would be easier for you to see what I am doing if I put the screen infront of you [or if child] / your child" people dont ever look again LET ME TELL YOU! lol

I was scared away from the price too since I will be paying out of pocket. I then checked on ebay and saw the same brands were going for around $25 if you could find your size.

Nobody bid in the next 24 hours though because its mine :)

This is exactly what I use on my Sony VAIO (work #1), Toughbook (work #2), Compaq (dw) and HP (mine) laptops. I also have a similar filter on my work monitor since my regular desk is *near* a window and Security thinks that a contortionist might, possibly, maybe could wrap her head around a wall and partition and see my screen  ...so everyone within 2 desks of the windows have to use monitor filters.
