SyncToy for XP -- new file sync'ing tool
 
MS has a new (unsupported) PowerToy out this month called SyncToy. There's lots of different file sync software out there for moving stuff back and forth from a laptop to a desktop, etc., but this one is super-easy!

It can handle name changes in one location and match to the original name in the other location. There are multiple actions, such as update, echo, replace, subscribe, delete, etc. It works great for photos, as this was the original use of it pre-beta.

You can preview how the synchronization will change things, run synchronizations, and manage existing folder pairs from a simple interface. Very cool; XP only.

Thanks a TON!! I was looking for a filesync util and this is AWESOME!!!

Just upgraded my notebook from a 40 to a 100 G disk and wanted to use the old disk as an external backup disk for all my music and pictures and this "toy" is PERFECT!
