Audio Tape to CD
I have some music on audio tapes !'d like to convert to computer files so I can burn onto CD.
Any ideas on how to do this? I serached the forum and didn't find answers. This is not technically a travel-related question, but I trust FT'ers to know what they're talking about.... |
I've done this by connecting a cassette deck to the audio in on my PC (sound card) and then recording to disk. I can't remember the name of the software I used - it came with my Sony Vaio - but you should be able to do this with Windows Sound Recorder.

I have done this - moslty with spoken word cassettes - with a cool program called GoldWave. It is free for quite a few uses, then is about $45.00 to buy.
Plugged from the cassette mic output to the mic input on the computer, opened a file in Goldwave, and recorded. Worked fine. I use it from time to time to record radio interviews from the net, too. I use freeware program called "Lame" and free GUI called Razor to convert files from .wav to .mp3. The Goldwave is a pretty full functioned sound editor, too. http://www.goldwave.com/ |

So that's why it hasn't been working ... ;) Seriously, just a hasty typing mistake. Good catch. |
