PDA Advice Needed
 

I need to go PDA shopping to replace my Ipaq 6315 and before I order one from HP I wondered if there is another model out there I should be considering.

I do need the Wi-Fi capability, bluetooth compatability and phone service feature. I am most familiar with Windows OS over Palm but am sure I could learn something new if I liked the product enough. GPS capable is a plus for me as well.

Any suggestions?

The hp6315 is your best bet if you need all the connectivity options and phone service; and likely to keep up with your email.

People here are going to think I'm on their payroll, but the Treo 650 is the best phone/PDA I've ever owned, and my first one was a PalmPilot (that actually said "PalmPilot" on it). All the PDA functions integrated with the phone, plays movies and MP3s, audiobooks, and ringtones, runs all of the Palm OS software. I'm never without mine.

The Treo is very nice and my first choice. No Wifi though.

I am not sure if they are available in the US, but assuming an affirmative answer, the O2 XDA IIi and IIs blow the pants off the HP. Having tried them all and being a long time XDA II user, they are simply superior machines. Better specifications, no external antenna, and the IIs has a properly implemented and permanently attached sliding keyboard. Both have bluetooth, WiFi, 128MB and much faster processors than the HP.

For a smaller form factor, the O2 XDA Mini is briliant, although it does not have built in WiFi. It is not much larger than a candybar phone.

To see them all, check out www.expansys.co.uk. They are also sold under the iMate brand. These are very high quality machines and (in this market anyway) the same price as the much lower specced 6315.

I'll second the XDA IIs recommendation. Got ours for £99 as an upgrade with O2 here in the UK. Beats spending £450 for the ipaq.
