Ripping Question....

OK, I'm pretty well versed in how to rip DVD's, convert to Avi/Dixv/Xvid/whatever. Here however is my current problem.....

I have boxes of DVD series that I never get a chance to watch. The ideal way to watch them would be to load them into my Archos in one an AVI/MPEG 4 format. The problem of course is that first I have to rip them off of DVD's. While with a movie this is pretty straight forward (find the VOB file with the biggest amount of info, set to rip with a variety of programs and then leave computer to rip away), this is a huge problem with Series DVD's. At the very best, I could rip episodes one by one (which with up to 8 eps per disc is a nightmare), or I can try to record into my player (but still a similar problem unless the disc has a play all option).

The question therefore is if anyone knows a program that can strip/rip just the actual episodes of a series? And if so, can aforesaid programme also convert into AVI at the same time?

A bit specialized, but if anyone knows the answer, they are sure to be around here!
