Map software
I've looked at a number of applications that let me build maps highlighting cities I've been to. I haven't been able to find any (Street and Trips, Excel) that let me do it on the level I'd like to.
Now, I'd like to build a map showing where all of my clients are around the country...would like to include it in my board reports. Anyone know of good, flexible mapping software that would let me put 'virtual push pins' on cities I've been to, or have clients in? |

For what you need, it would probably be so much easier to load a map in photoshop and copy and paste pins all over it.

Best mapping
So, the best mapping tool I have used to date is microsoft mappoint,
It ISN'T cheap, usually retailing for 249$ or something, but can be had for much less, check fatwallet or other for deals, but, there is so much one can do, and it will allow interfacing with external data, (like a client list or such) and then map that data, and still allow queries re: soc econ class, demographics, infrastructure, etc. etc. Works with GPS, comes with MSFT streets and trips and uploads to web and others, and interefaces with all microsoft apps, again, 250$ or less, but I have found it worthwhile for certain (well, it WAS free) |
I've been using DeLorme Street Atlas USA for years. It lets you put pushpins or whatever other symbols you want on the maps.
