Cblaisd, I would have agreed with you a few years ago. Having recently purchased both the Dell Axim and a Tungsten T5 I was shocked at the difference in these models. The Palm crashed probably 5 times as frequently. The mail on the Palm is awful, even compared to the standard Email on the Pocket PC. I have spent a lot of time trying to fugure out how to do things with the T5 even though I have used Palm OS products since the first Palm Pilot. Some stuff I have just given up on. The only reason I use it is for Life Balance/Daynotez software. Other than that I wouldnt bother dealing with it I suspect. But you are right, it is likely a largely personal thing and possibly heavily influenced by the apps you use most frequently.

At least my browser asks to download a .ZIP file when I do that. I didn't go any further. Well this is my first time posting to FT using a Pocket PC. I'm only using IE at the moment and the experience is quite reasonable.
As always, thanks for all the help and information. |
Can you use the Dell Axim as a phone handset (i.e. holding it up to your ear/mouth)? I can't seem to figure that out.
What do you do when you have a wired Internet connection available, let's say in a hotel room, but not wireless? And finally, it looks like they only support 802.11b internally - is or will there be any way to upgrade that? |

Minimo? Isn't that the midget sidekick in Austin Powers?
Palm sucks...go Windows Mobile. I still have my trusty O2 XDAII. Unfortunately it hasn't broken or gotten stolen to upgrade...yet. :D |
