Anyone here with Citrix knowledge?

I've got a couple of questions about an installation I can't find answers to...

On the server or client side?

What kind of help do you need?

I support installations, but am not an admin/setup expert. Try posting your questions. Our product developers, who I turn to for specific issues, have a knowledge base they use.

I've had good luck finding quick answers on the public newsgroups, alt.os.citrix, (I think), and there are a few newsgroups from microsoft with 'terminalserver' in the group name, if you're concerned with a windows implementation.

I was trying to install Metaframe XP FR2 on a Win2003 server box (from what I read it isn't possible unless you install an old MS Java VM, so I did).

The installation fails around the end, and nothing it installed works, so I uninstalled it. What Citrix then does is something I have never seen; it erases the entire windows installation AND empties every directory on the machine.

I reinstalled Win2003 and tried again thinking I might have messed up, and got the same result; everything is gone.

I'll probably just end up reinstalling it on an old Win2000 box (the whole purpose was to get it running on 2003) but I am amazed it managed to do so much damage.

The SA ran out last year so I don't have any upgrade rights to FR3.

FWIW, these are legal copies of the OS and of MF.

So, CAN MF XPs FR2 be installed on Server2003 at all?

That is a known problem with the Citrix uninstall. After removng Windows it should install a working copy of Linux. This will be fixed in the next release.
