iPod help
My daughter loaded her iPod form a PC, which has died. She replaced it with a Mac laptop, and now the iPod software wants to DELETE all her songs in order to sync with the Mac. Any help?

Try www.ipodlounge.com
I guess it wants to reformat the filesystem from FAT32 to the mac's file system. -David |
I have received knowledgeable help here on several issues that had me stumped.
http://discussions.info.apple.com/ipod/ As in this particular forum on FT, there are good people who hang out there being helpful, some with 1000's of posts .... Best wishes, Teacher49 |
ipod download
There used to be a program called ipod download ,that would allow you to download all the music from your ipod, back to itunes.
I think it only worked on mac, and it has been banned by Apple, but can be found "around town" if you know where to look. |
If you go to Versiontracker you should find a number of shareware applications out there that will allow you to take the songs off of the iPod and onto your computer without using iTunes. Then, you can move all the songs into iTunes. I'm not sure if the format of the drive would be an issue though, since it was formatted for the Windows machine. If all else fails, you could pull the songs off the iPod onto a windows machine and then transfer them to the Mac.
Kind of a bummer, but shouldn't take more than an hour or two. |
Thanks to all who replied to my question. The replies were most helpful.

swise has the right idea, i think. i use a dandy little piece of software called iPodRip to do exactly what you are asking about. you can find it and more information at www.thelittleappfactory.com/software/ipodrip.php
