Personal CD's
 

I have some cd's I made copies to bring to listen to on the plane. Are we allowed to bring this or is this illegal?

As far as the airlines go... as long as you're not using the CD player during takeoff and and landing, they couldn't care less. You'll be fine.

Now, if your seatmate works for the RIAA... ;)

I thought tsa confiscates cd's

The TSA has no juristiction over music CD's.

I guess it's as easy as not naming your CD's "illegal music CD#2"

Plus, if you own the originals at home I don't see any problem with taking CD's with you, you do it with most MP3 players afterall...

Even that might be fine.

For example, customs laws allow you to import one counterfeit/pirated item of each type. So one CD, one DVD, one Rolex watch, etc.

It depends on the ailine, there are still some that do not allow CD's at all during the flight (Alitalia and Turkish come to mind). Most domestic airlines it's perfectly fine.

Never had the TSA look twice at the stack of CD's, you will be fine getting past them.
