Tungsten E Hot Synch problem

Hi
My boss got a new Tungsten E. Everytime he hot synchs, it asks him to reset the date and time. Why? We have re loaded software, checked the date everywhere, but no luck. Any ideas?

I think the thing is rebooting each time

This probably doesn't address the problem, but I just wanted to point out that what's happening seems to be that the PDA is resetting each time during the HotSync. (You see the Palm logo, then the Date/Time screen comes up; same thing that happens when you push the reset button on the back of the PDA.)

that's exactly what's happening but I have no idea how to stop it.

Are you trying to synch with XP? If so check these pages out from Palm on changing your synch to get it to work with XP. I'd start there.

It's Windows 2000 , connecting with a USB cord.

Running all the latest software? They insist that if you upgrade the desktop to 4.1.4 or whatever the latest is then it takes care of all the 2000 problems.

If you are running any third party software, remove it and see if it still happens, if it does add them back one by one to find the problem.

It may be worth a call to them, it's not a really uncommon problem, they may have a checklist to run through and pinpoint the issues.
