blackberry accessory intercompatability

Just spent a week in a podunk town with no T-mobile store. Am now in another backwater town with no T-Mobile store so still cant upgrade to the 7730. Meanwhile I left my charger in the last podunk.

This backwater town DOES have a Verizon store. Will their charger for their version of the 6710 (presuming they have one in stock) work on my 6710? It is all the way over on the other side of this "city" so your answer will save me a 5 blcok walk! ;)

While you are at it Shrek, thoughts on the Sidekick before i spend 1.5 times as much on a 7730??

Yes, the charger will work. (6710 chargers work on the 6710, 6720, 6750, 7730, 7750, 7780), Verizon sells the 6750.

The Sidekick is nice, but the Sidekick II is on it's way in a few weeks and it's improved a lot. Email is fast and the device does AOL instant messenger.

BUT, it's battery life is poor (just over a day) and it isn't the most reliable device out there.

But pricewise it is a very good deal.

BTW, the chance of finding a store with a 7730 in stock is very slim. You have a better chance ordering it online.

Ah, and for someone with issues about haning onto their charger, this is indeed a fairly major concern (the one i just lost was my third in 16 months...)

Is the sidekick fully enterprise-able, if my IT department gets its head out of its collective butt and decides to go that way? Nevermind, I'm thinkin' 7730 anyway.

Thanks as ever, Shrekie! I owe you a great big haggas sandwitch!

Regarding an enterprise Sidekick: NO.

It is entirely made for the youth and has virtually no security.

I'm told they are quite popular at Google

Post Script: Went to the Verizon store and the employees were fascinated by my Blackberry: it was the first one they had ever seen. Needless to say, they did not stock a travel charger....I am having one overnighted to me.

God Bless North Dakota!
