Cool new presentation remote control
Thought I would share this interesting find for any of you powerpoint jockeys out there:
I picked up a Keyspan Presentation Remote at Compusa the other day for about $70. It is a very small (4 inches long) remote that has a wireless USB receiver which plugs into any laptop without the need to load any drivers. This is a big feature for me as our corporate computers are "locked down" from being able to load ANYTHING. I give a lots of presentations and I hate being forced to stand next to the hot projector and computer (which often blocks the audiences view of the screen) Another plus is a laser pointer built into the remote. It's available mail order for considerably less, $45 or so.
Windows 98 SE or higher, won't plug and play on 95 or plain 98. |
The keyspan is hardly "new", I've had one for my Mac since 2001 (same one as for the PC), a cheaper and much better solution is the Streamzap remote as it supports more applications and has more buttons although it does need drivers.

Bought mine in June 2001, really cool gadget.
All I ever use it for is PowerPoint presentations. I wish the remote had an on/off switch, as I am always running out of batteries http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...orum/frown.gif |
If you use a Sony Ericsson phone, you might want to check out Salling Clicker:
http://homepage.mac.com/jonassalling/Shareware/Clicker/ I've seen a guy give a presentation from his Mac using the Bluetooth cellphone as the clicker. |
