Comcast Doubling Broadband Speed (@ same price)

I dont have any link but I received an email regarding this from a trusted source (that source CANT be Comcast). Rollout for the Philly area is to be Dec 1 2003 with 3mbs d/l but same 250kbs u/l for the lowest priced home option. Nice deal if it actually happens and actually works.

My $59 a month DSL in Holland just went from 2Mbit to 8Mbit overnight http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...um/biggrin.gif

That ROCKS!

They announced several weeks ago that they were rolling out the double speed product:

My speed was doubled a couple months ago. Apparently Pittsburgh area was one of the initial trials of it. It seemed to work out, so they decided to roll it out nationwide by the end of the year. I haven't gotten a test to give me the actual theoretical doubled speed of 3Mbit/sec, but it tests around 2.5Mbit/sec on a regular basis. That's pretty good for $45/month. Gives them a way to better differentiate from the home DSL services, which are only half the speed at best but in some areas are giving some downward price pressure.
