I might have old ASPI drivers. It is confusing. I am tempted to call HP but I doubt they would be able to help. |
Exact Audio Copy doesn't talk to the drive -- the drive makes a bunch of cricket sounds and than XAC says that no compatible read command is found.

weird stability problems today since installing the 4 MS security patches for XP...I am not tinkering with this for now.
