T68i in US

Can anyone point me somewhere (other than ebay) where I can get a cheap or free T68i. I am currently on T-Mobile but am out of contract. Want a new handset (T68i) but they don't seem to offer it. I don't want to switch providers (as I am happy with TMobile and want to keep my number), but am willing to sign a new contract with TMobile.

I am willing to pay $100 for non-contract phone. Most of the free/cheap T68i deals are for new activations......

It bugs me to hell as a friend walked into a store and got a T68i on TMobile for free with 12 month contract. Why is it that they don't seem to do anything like that for me to stay with them???

Any help appreciated.

If you do a search at either

froogle.google.com

or

mysimon.com

for t68i lots and lots of places will come up with the phone, some of them must be selling it without service plans.

Not sure you will find an unlocked one for $100 without a plan though.

Have you tried asking the cell-phone company? If you did, maybe you just got a bad rep, as most of the time they treat an out-of-contract subscriber the same as a new subscriber and will give you the same deals.

For that matter, as you're out of contract, you can just disconnect your current phone and wlak into the store and buy a new one with activation at whatever specials they have.

Amazon.com offers it free after mail in discount rebateincluding free shipping. I ordered one and the discount rebate was quick and prompt
If you dont want new service just dont activate new service and lose the discount. buy.com also has excellent offers.
I dont think you will have a problem with a locked phone as they operate using a SIM card and your old SIM card should work fine

Avoid the SE T68i like the plague!

I chucked mine on EBAY which I bought from Amazon after a month of frustrations and bought the Semiens S55 which is better and more reliable.

You must have been unlucky, I absolutely LOVED my T68i, never had a single problem with it.

I don't think I was unlucky. I had the same sort of problems that other users I know had. The RF on the phone is horrible. I tried to use it often overseas and would continually get calls dropped or unable to connect to a network while a guy on a Nokia next to me was jabbering away. Not to mention the numerous times in the States when I could barely pick up a signal.
Aside from that the features were great but if you can't use the phone to send and receive calls reliably then it isn't worth much in my book. The S55 has performed like a champ in the RF area and it has all the bells and whistles of the SE T68i.

Agree. My family has three T68/T68i phones and find them to be quite reliable and with an excellent feature set. Perhaps not as stable as our Nokia 6XXX and 8XXX phones, but with comparable reception and sound quality.

However, we're in the process of replacing the T68s with T610s. The T610 is a very nice phone!
