P800 Software and toys?

Okay. I followed ScottC's advice and bought a P800, and so far I absolutely love it. But now I want to download some software and really play with the thing.

I've had a look over at Handango and didn't find much that captured my interest. What applications / games / etc do other P800 users use and recommend?

I'm also interested in getting a London city map and some European routefinder software. I downloaded the trial of Tomtom for Symbian but couldn't get it to load. Is it just me being thick, or do I need a P800-specific version?

(e.g. is all Symbian software created equal, or like Unix, do I need the appropriate flavour of Symbian?)

Handango has many applications for the P800

http://www.handango.com

Look under "Symbian OS"

Note: look for applications specifically written for the P800.

Programs I bought:

Worldmate (see www.mobimate.com)
Pocket bartender (Neosoft, availabe off Handango)
Amy Reilys Gourmet guide (also Neosoft)

For the rest I have some shareware games, at the moment there isn't that much out yet...

I'm just back from a trip and was jet lagged. Ran right by it.

Given the products popularity, I suspect more products are in development. I would keep visiting the site looking for new releases.

BTW, there are several Yahoo groups for the P800, including this one with over 1200 members:

So far I love the phone but am disappointed in the apps available for it. If I were interested in playing games I'd be delighted.

I looked at WorldMate but frankly it doesn't do much that's useful for me. It sure looks nice though.

HandyDay v2 has some interesting functionality but it's so bloody ugly I can't bear the tought of having to look at it every time I open the flip.

Stuff I would like: language tools (specifically Spanish-English and Catalan-English, like some free thing I downloaded for my Treo that I can't remember the name of). There are a couple of horribly clunky, crippled Booster apps that don't come close but that's about it.

For me, the killer app would be a very attractive (a la WorldMate) "Today" screen like the PocketPC has. If I could cusomtize it thouroughly including Web services, and use it as the standard "flip open" screen, I would be a happy camper.

Try http://www.allaboutsymbian.com and
http://www.my-symbian.com.
Both sites are kept up to date with new symbian apps and the first has a particularly good forum on the P800.
