Empower and other electronic devices

A question for all you techies . . .

Can in-seat power (empower) be used with other electronic devices? Or is it *only* safe with laptops?

Specifically, I'm thinking of my iPod as I would like to avoid running down the battery during the long flight.

Many thanks!

I use it with my portable DVD player.

It is DC, so it's not like it needs to be "conditioned".

Get yourself an empower-110volt adapter, that way you can use anything that doesn't drain more than around 150watts. An ipod is no problem at all though a microwave over might not work http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/wink.gif
