Software for a Creative Nomad Jukebox
My girlfriend has a Creative Nomad Jukebox (one of the original ones) that I bought her a while ago and she loves ... the problem is she lost the CD-ROM that came with it ...
Does anyone here have the CD-ROM for a Jukebox and could burn me a copy of the CD-ROM (I'm not sure how big the file/s is/are, maybe you could even email it if your internet connection allows)? The program in particular she needs is the one to upload new music to it ... Obviously I'd be willing to pay costs/expenses if you can burn me the CD and mail it to me. Thanks in advance! Tom |
Technically, if the CD contains copywritten material, to burn another one would be a copyright violation.
I found this on the company web site: ======================================= To order products, accessories and genuine Creative replacement parts (such as installation CDs, manuals and cables): Tel: 1-800-998-1000 (non-technical issues only, please) FAX: 1-405-624-6780 Operating Hours (Central Time) 9AM - 6PM, Monday - Friday Closed Public Holidays* ======================================= I suspect the CD can't cost very much. ------------------ Michael Steinberg Editor BizTrip www.biztrip.com |
Beckles, I don't actually have the CD anymore, either, but you CAN download "Playcenter" from Creative, in the Downloads section of www.nomadworld.com.
She might also give Notmad Explorer (at www.redchairsoftware.com) a try. I'm actually not a big fan (I find it's not terribly stable on my computer), but some of my friends swear by it. --Greg, who recently popped open his Jukebox and put a 40 gig hard drive in it. The procedure is remarkably simple. That's actually STILL not enough for my entire CD collection http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/wink.gif |

I know the 60's are available, but in terms of bang-for-the-buck, the 40 was a much better deal at the time of purchase ($118 delivered)

I bought a Toshiba MK4018GAS.
Instructions are available from Nomadness. Specifically, I followed the Easy Way directions. Those directions skimp on the "opening the Jukebox" step, but it's actually pretty simple -- there are 5 screws on the bottom of the Jukebox. 2 of them are under the rubber feet at the "front", 3 are in the battery compartment (one of them hidden by a sticker). Once the back cover is off, carefully lift the board out, flip it over, and you'll find 4 screws holding the hard drive to the system board. Remove these and slide the drive off, being careful to retain the spacers that hold the drive away from the board. The new drive slides right in. I found the procedure incredibly simple, but I've done all sorts of things along these lines in the past. Ob.disclaimer -- opening a Nomad will void any remaining warranty, could damage it, blah blah blah... http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/wink.gif I'm still thinking about what to do with the "spare" laptop drive I have now. This is one possibility, if I can find a retailer selling the "driveless" version. [This message has been edited by GregLeg (edited 02-11-2003).] |
