I've played with a prototype for about 30 minutes. It's nice. It has a terrific screen. They did a pretty good job of making it "phone first", which I think is critical for one of these.

My Treo and A388 both got this part wrong - they're too hard to use when you just want to make a phone call. Conversely, the 9290 and R380 both got the phone part right but have other failings that I consider fatal (there's a long rant by me about the R380 on usenet someplace if you're interested).

I would really like to see some kind of thumbboard on the SPV. Time spent with the Treo has proven that it's invaluable for doing email and SMS.

I'm sure I'll have to get my hands on one of these. I'll be in Europe in a couple of weeks and if I can find a way to get it unlocked, will definitely pick one up.

Any phone with a large screen but without a touchscreen isn't something I'd buy...
